Arts Council Names Board Members, Officers

Three new members are joining the Arts Council of Indianapolis board of directors. Each will serve a three-year term. The council also announced the election of a new slate of officers.

Chief Executive Officer Dave Lawrence says "the Arts Council of Indianapolis’ board of directors is a tremendously active and dedicated group of community and civic leaders who understand the importance of the arts and cultural community in Indianapolis. With the counsel and talent of these new board members, we will continue to lead and advocate for the arts and cultural community of central Indiana."

The new appointments are Indianapolis Airport Authority Director of Public Affairs Angela Cain, Schmidt Associates Inc. Principal-in-Charge Sarah Hempstead and University of Indianapolis Professional Edge Center Associate Vice President Corey Wilson.

The officers are:

Chair- FlashPoint Principal Krista Skidmore

Immediate Past Chair- Katz Sapper & Miller LLP Managing Partner David Resnick

Vice Chair- Indianapolis Museum of Art Special Projects Manager Ted Givens

Treasurer- The National Bank of Indianapolis First Vice President & Manager Private Banking Joyce Morris

Secretary- Tanya S. Overdorf P.C. President Tanya Stuart Overdorf

The board is planning to launch a new strategic plan for 2016-2018.

      Crews Start Demolition of Carson's in Hammond

      Michigan City Commits $12M to South Shore Track Project

      The Michigan City Common Council has formally committed to contribute $12 million towards the proposed $416 million Double Track project for the South Shore commuter line.
