Speakers Set For TEDxValparaisoUniversity

The lineup for TEDxValparaisoUniversity has been revealed. The event will feature guest speakers including the mayor or Gary and the president of the university giving presentations on the theme "the power of and."

February 24 will mark the first time an independently-organized TEDx event will be at Valpo. TEDxValparaisoUniversity will take place from 4-9 p.m. at the Center for the Arts on the Porter County school's campus.

Organizers say the speakers and topics include:

Gary Mayor Karen Freeman-Wilson - "How Public Servants Can Re-Engage the Public"

VU President Mark Heckler - "Lead & Serve"

Valparaiso-based Rusted Oak men's clothing store owner Robert Ordway "Voicing Our Vote: Why Millennials Matter in Elections"

VU meteorology major Elyse Smith - "Dancers Are Athletes Too"

      CLEANPOWER Conference Coming to Indy
