The list ranks schools based on their return on investment rating, which is determined by several metrics.
Rose-Hulman was ranked at number 27 on the list and is the only Indiana school represented in the top 50. The California Institute of Technology topped the list at number one.
The education services company compiled the ratings from data including academics, cost, financial aid, graduation rates, student debt and more. The data was collected from surveys of administrators and students at over 650 schools. It also collected information from alumni on starting and mid-career salaries.
The Princeton Review also released the 2016 edition of its book Colleges That Pay You Back: The 200 Schools That Give You the Best Bang for Your Tuition Buck. The book, which does not rank schools, includes DePauw University, Indiana University, Purdue University, University of Notre Dame and Wabash College, in addition to Rose-Hulman.
