Navy Adds to Rolls-Royce Deal
Rolls Royce Corp. in Indianapolis has secured nearly $65 million in additional funds for a U.S Navy contract. The deal involves work on KC-130J aircraft propulsion systems.
More than 40 percent of work will be performed in Indianapolis. Nicknamed "Hercules," the aircraft is used for air-to-air refueling, tactical passenger purposes and cargo airlift duties.
The contract is part U.S. military and part Kuwaiti government purchases. Work is expected to be complete within a year.
Last week, the U.S. Department of Defense boosted a contract for C-130J support by Rolls-Royce in Indianapolis to the tune of nearly $154 million.
