Conner Prairie Details 2015 Numbers, New Exhibit

Conner Prairie says a new, $750,000 "Treetop Outpost" exhibit will open this summer. At its annual meeting, the Fishers attraction also detailed its 2015 numbers, including attendance of more than 386,000.

The Treetop Outpost, set to open in July, will include activities relating to nature, archaeology, art and music. It will also feature a nature walk through the woods and along the White River. The exhibit is being built by general contractor Hagerman Group, which has offices in Fishers and Fort Wayne.

Around 300 attended this week's annual meeting. At the event Conner Prairie leaders unveiled the following numbers for 2015:

386,057 people visited Conner Prairie, including 268,653 daily visits and 117,404 visits to the Symphony on the Prairie summer concert series;
22,581 visitors took flight on the 1859 Balloon Voyage;
52,578 school tours visited the museum, including students from 80 of 92 Indiana counties;
30,093 people attended October’s Headless Horseman fall festival;
More than $8.5 million was raised through corporate and individual gifts and grants;
A $7.5 million grant from Lilly Endowment Inc. was the largest single gift ever made to Conner Prairie;
