The airport says, in addition to being the airport’s first nonstop service to the new city, the route will serve as a connection to several other popular destinations.

In February, Southwest Airlines announced a nonstop route to Dallas Love Field, which is the eighth-largest destination market connected to Indianapolis International Airport.
Indianapolis International Airport reported a nearly 7 percent increase in passengers in 2015 compared to the previous year. In all, IND offers more than 40 nonstop destinations.
