Diversity Awards to Recognize Irsays, ‘Papa John’
An event honoring contributions to diversity and inclusion will feature some big names next month. The Champions of Diversity Awards Dinner from Indiana Minority Business Magazine will celebrate Indiana native and Papa John’s Pizza founder John Schnatter, the daughters of Colts owner Jim Irsay and businesses including Lafayette-based Subaru of Indiana Automotive Inc.
The event will spotlight twelve awards in all. The 11th Annual Champions of Diversity Awards Dinner is set for the evening of January 15 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Indianapolis.
This year’s 2016 Champions of Diversity honorees are:
- William G. Mays Excellence in Entrepreneurship Award recipient: Engaging Solutions LLC
- Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Freedom Award recipient: Collina Ventures founders Mark and Karen Hill
- Rosa Parks Trailblazer Award recipient: The Oaks Academy
- HIM by HER Foundation founders Harry and Michelle Dunn
- Vectren Inc. Manager of Supplier Diversity & Development Kimberly Dunning
- Indianapolis Airport Authority
- Indiana Plan
- Indianapolis Colts Vice Chair/Owners Casey Foyt, Kalen Irsay and Carlie Irsay-Gordon
- Indiana University Assistant Director for Diversity Education Barry Magee
- Former Indianapolis Public Schools Director of Multicultural Education Patricia Payne
- Papa John’s Pizza founder and Chief Executive Officer John Schnatter
- Subaru of Indiana Automotive Inc.
