Bloomington Chamber to Host I-69 Summit
An event this month in Bloomington will focus on leveraging potential opportunities connected to the expansion of Interstate 69 from Evansville to Indianapolis. The I-69 Regional Summit, hosted by the Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce, will include speakers representing various industries and the public sector.
The chamber says professionals from the U.S. and Canada in the business and economic development, education, defense, tourism, agriculture, trade and logistics sectors will be involved in the event that kicks off November 18 with a reception at the Hoosier Energy corporate headquarters. A full slate of networking and presentation opportunities are set for November 19.
Organizers say the summit will showcase the "boundless economic opportunities every community and state have available because of it."
The lineup of guests includes U.S. Department of Transportation Acting Undersecretary of Policy Peter Rogoff, Indiana Department of Transportation Commissioner Brandye Hendrickson, Lafayette-based Subaru of Indiana Automotive Inc. Executive Vice President Tom Easterday and Consul General of Canada Douglas George.
