AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) says it is filling dozens of positions in Indiana, including nearly 30 new jobs. The company says continued investment in the state is leading to technician, retail and corporate support openings.

News Release

Indianapolis, Ind. — AT&T today announced that the company will hire workers for nearly 70 jobs in Indiana, including nearly 30 new jobs. The positions to be filled are technicians, retail, and corporate support and are a result of AT&T's continued investment in Indiana.

“AT&T continues to expand its customer base in Indiana and invest in our network to ensure we are providing the high level of service our customers have come to expect from the nation’s largest 4G LTE network,” said Bill Soards, president of AT&T Indiana. “As part our commitment to this level of customer service and to support our growth in Indiana, we are pleased to have the opportunity to welcome nearly 70 employees to the AT&T team.”

AT&T announced earlier this year that it has invested more than $325 million in its Indiana wireless and wireline networks during the first half of 2013. The network investment is part of AT&T’s Project Velocity IP (VIP), a three-year investment plan announced last fall to expand and enhance its IP broadband networks. AT&T invested more than $1.3 billion in its Indiana wireless and wired networks from 2010 through 2012.

“People and businesses are connecting in more ways than ever before,” said State Rep. Eric Koch, chairman of the House Utilities and Energy Committee. “As a result, the potential for growth in our state's telecommunications industry is huge. We’re excited that companies such as AT&T are choosing Indiana for additional jobs and investments.”

“These new jobs are tremendous opportunities for our highly-skilled membership,” said Tim Strong, president, Communications Workers of America Local 4900. “As AT&T continues to expand and enhance its networks to meet consumer demand, we’re hopeful that their job growth remains substantial.”

AT&T jobs are among the best in the world and full- and part-time positions include competitive wages and benefits which provide security and value to the nearly 1.1 million AT&T employees, retirees and their dependents. AT&T currently employs more than 4,800 employees throughout Indiana and consistently hires new talent. AT&T is regularly recognized for training and development programs that are among the best in the country, and invested about $280 million training employees and about $26.6 million in tuition aid during 2012. AT&T is committed to and has been recognized for diversity and veteran recruiting.
