General Mills Details Closure
General Mills has announced job cuts at its New Albany plant will start at the beginning of January. In a notice to the state, the company says the previously-announced closure will impact nearly 350 workers.
Other cuts are scheduled for March, May, August and September.
In January 2015, the company announced plans to close its New Albany facility. Officials say the plant is expected to close in September 2016.
General Mills has operated in New Albany since 1959. The company makes refrigerated baked goods, including the Pillsbury brand.
The plant is located at 707 Pillsbury Lane.
