Mike Nutter says "The Summit," will be the only batter’s eye rooftop deck at any ballpark in the country. He tells Inside INdiana Business it is part of on-going efforts to keep people talking about Parkview Field.
Nutter says the project is yet another big investment to the downtown that is continuing the momentum that began rolling a few years ago. The $19 million Harrison Square project, which opened last year and is across the street from the stadium, preceded other major investments like the $100 million Ash Brokerage Skyline development, set to open next year, and the $27 million Cityscape Flats project that broke ground in January.
Seven-year-old Parkview Field is home to the TinCaps, which broke a park attendance record last season, with more than 400,000 fans crossing through the turnstiles for 67 home games.
Nutter says The Summit, which will be funded by the club through ticket and sponsorship revenue, represents another way the organization is "doing our part" in reinvesting in the city.
The Summit will accommodate up to 125 fans per game in groups of 20 or more in an open-air setting and offer ballpark and club-style seating, half of which is under a shade structure. Nutter says "we’re always listening to the feedback we receive from fans" and the project is another option for community partners, businesses and organizations.
Parkview Field has received the No. 1 overall rating for fan experience by Stadium Journey four of the last five years.
Nutter says it’s a great time to be involved in the Minor Leagues in Indiana.
