During an interview with Inside INdiana Business when the program was unveiled last year, President Sherilyn Emberton said a tremendous need exists to supply Indiana’s ag sector with highly-educated talent.
The first handful of students have already been admitted to the program and nearly a dozen incoming freshman have also signed up. Institute Director Raymie Porter anticipates a "snowball of new students in the future."
The event will include addresses from Indiana State Department of Agriculture Director Ted McKinney and Warsaw-based Lake City Bank Senior Vice President Joe Kessie.
A reception at the Dowden Science Hall following the 4:30 p.m. dedication is open to the public.
The Huntington program follows a tradition of schools in the state offering agriculture programs, including Purdue University, Vincennes University and Ivy Tech Community College.
