State Gaming Revenue Slump Continues
Monthly revenue at Indiana casinos was once again lower in September. The state reports adjusted gross revenue was $162.6 million, compared to $182.7 million during the same month a year ago.
Out of 13 gaming operations in the state, only two reported even a modest increase. Hoosier Park Racing and Casino in Anderson notched up around $400,000 to $16.6 million and French Lick Resort and Casino reported a slight rise over September 2014 to more than $6 million. Racinos in the state are entitled to a 12 percent deduction and French Lick is no longer required to pay admission tax as part of a compromised state gaming bill during the most recent session of the General Assembly.
The Horseshoe Casino in Hammond and Hollywood Casino & Hotel in Lawrenceburg registered comparative dips of $4.7 million and $3.5 million over the same time last year, respectively.
