Manufacturer Investing in Michigan City
A Michigan City-based manufacturer will be keeping more of its work in-house with an expansion. KTR Corp. is planning to invest more than $250,000 into new equipment that will allow the transmission component manufacturer to complete machining tasks it currently outsources.
KTR employs more than 60 in the LaPorte County city and is looking to add a small number of workers as part of the investment. The operation serves as the company’s North American headquarters for its customer base in the U.S., Mexico and Canada.
KTR says the new equipment will increase efficiency and bring new products onto the continent’s hydraulic market, increasing competitiveness.
Economic Development Corp. Michigan City, Indiana says the company has received tax abatement from the city that will total around $20,000.
