Return Path’s Scott Roth, who previously served as an executive with Indianapolis-based ExactTarget, says the city now possesses the technical know-how to compete with traditional tech heavyweights on the coasts. The global company boasts clients including Groupon and Citrix, as well as local connections with Angie’s List, hhgregg and Simon Property Group. During an interview on Inside INdiana Business Television, Roth talked about Return Path’s growth plans.
The company’s growth has been rapid in Indy. The email optimization, email fraud protection and consumer insight software provider currently has 40 people in the city, which Roth says could grow "north of 100" in the next few years. He says it opened the Marion County office in January with two employees and has continued to hire. In June, the Indiana Economic Development Corp. offered Return Path incentives that could exceed $300,000, based on its stated plans to create just over two dozen jobs by 2017. Roth says the company’s office in Market Tower is "bursting at the seams."
He says the table for growth was set for the "next generation" of tech talent in the area by the likes of ExactTarget, Aprimo and Angie’s List that have "flourished" over the years in Indianapolis.
