The serial entrepreneur who brought a major youth startup event to Indiana six years ago says 2015 participants could be in line for a unique experience. Eleven Fifty founder and Lemonade Day Greater Indianapolis city champion Scott Jones says ten select “lemonpreneurs” will be paired with IndyCar drivers during a qualifications day for the Indianapolis 500. He tells Inside INdiana Business the program includes several activities leading up to the early May event that can help kids gain valuable experience very early on. April 20, 2015

News Release

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Ten lucky lemonade stand owners will have the opportunity to do business on Pagoda Plaza during Indianapolis 500 Qualifications Day on May 16, 2015. In partnership with the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Lemonade Day Greater Indianapolis is sweetening the deal by pairing selected participants with Verizon IndyCar Series drivers, including three at the top of the current points standings.

“In May all thoughts turn to racing, so we are especially happy to team up with the Indianapolis Motor Speedway to offer this special experience for 10 Lemonade Day 'lemonpreneurs,'” said Scott Jones, the local serial entrepreneur who brought Lemonade Day to Indianapolis six years ago.

In keeping with the Lemonade Day business philosophy of “Save, Spend, Share,” stand owners will donate a portion of their profits to the drivers' charities. The 10 selected kids and up to four family members each also will have a 90-minute photo op with their driver on Sunday, May 3, where they can learn more about each driver's charity and refine the design of their stands, which must reflect the driver and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Participating drivers include:

-Ed Carpenter, CFH Racing

-Pippa Mann, Dale Coyne Racing

-Sage Karam, Chip Ganassi Racing

-Graham Rahal, Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing

-Helio Castroneves, Team Penske

-Will Power, Team Penske

-JR Hildebrand, Tyler McQuarrie Racing

-Simon Pagenaud, Team Penske

-Josef Newgarden, CFH Racing

-Juan Pablo Montoya, Team Penske

To be considered, kids must be registered participants for Lemonade Day 2015 and complete an online application. The deadline to submit an application is Thursday, April 30, and winners will be notified on Friday, May 1, 2015.
