News Release

New Haven, Ind. — Sixteen companies and organizations have signed up to participate in a job fair for 220 Vera Bradley workers facing layoff in the wake of the company’s decision to close its New Haven factory.

The job fair, scheduled for April 15 and 16 in New Haven, was arranged by Vera Bradley and WorkOne Northeast. It follows a half-day of WorkOne sessions to provide the workers with job interview guidance and information on other services available at WorkOne Northeast and United Way’s 211.

“We are extremely appreciative and grateful to all of the companies stepping up to help our associates by participating in next week’s job fair,” said Julie North, vice president of human resources at Vera Bradley. “Finding employment for all of those affected by our facility closing is our top priority. We have an amazing group of talented and hard-working associates, and other area companies will be very lucky to hire them.”

The companies and organizations scheduled to participate in the job fair are: Arden Companies; Cintas Corp.; Easter Seals Arc of Northeast Indiana; Excellon Technologies Inc.; Genova Products; Group Delphi; Lippert Components Inc.; Lowes; Miller Poultry; Outerwears Inc.; Pretzels Inc.; Signature Seating; Smith Brothers of Berne; Taylor Made Systems; TLS by Design; and Transformations by Wieland.

Combined, the companies and organizations have more than 200 job openings, most of them full-time.
