Tax and Fiscal Committee Chairman Brandt Hershman's (R-7) amendment calls for $20 million in renovations to Carroll Stadium, the current home of Indy Eleven Professional Soccer on the campus of IUPUI. The previous provisions would have helped pay for a new, $82 million multi-use stadium that would be the primary home of the Indy Eleven and a possible women's professional soccer team.
The amended version of House Bill 1273 was approved unanimously by the committee and will head to the Senate.
In testimony before the committee, Indy Eleven President Peter Wilt said the renovation would get the team up to “first division standards.”
