Ancilla College trustees have voted to keep tuition at a flat, fixed rate for the incoming class. The school says the $14,100 rate is the lowest among private institutions in the state. February 23, 2015

News Release

DONALDSON, Ind. – Set lower than any other private school in Indiana, the Ancilla College Board of Trustees voted Monday for a flat, fixed tuition rate of $14,100 per year.

“We cater toward individualized attention,” said President Ken Zirkle, “And we noticed students taking fewer credit hours than the state recommends because each credit was costing our students.”

The flat rate encourages students to take a full load and graduate on time. Ancilla College will only charge $470 per credit hour if the student goes over 17 hours.

“This, combined with a tuition lock-in,” Zirkle said, “will lighten the burden on our students.”

“If you start with us this fall, our promise is your tuition will stay at $14,100 per year, or $7,050 per semester for two years,” he said. “This helps families plan and students to know what to expect.”

Additionally, Ancilla College is building its first residence hall and student center, which will be ready for occupancy Aug. 1.

Room and board will include a meal plan for $8,500 for the year, Zirkle said. Well below other college rates in the state.

“We all work here because we believe education is the door that opens all rooms. Setting affordable tuition, combined with personal attention and small classes is what is going to make a difference for our students,” he said.

Ancilla College (www.ancilla.edu), part of The Center at Donaldson, offers 18 associate degrees and 10 athletic programs. Since 1937, the College has been a sponsored ministry of the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ. It is a small, private, liberal arts school in Donaldson, Indiana. It is located two miles south of U.S. 30 on Union Road near Plymouth, Indiana.
