INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The baseball programs of two of Indiana's most-recognized universities will face off in downtown Indianapolis at the state's premier baseball facility as the Indiana Hoosiers take on the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame. Victory Field will be the site of the contest on April 21, 2015. Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. with first pitch at 7:00 p.m.
Tickets, which start at just $8, are on sale now at IndyIndians.com. Students, faculty, children ages 3-14 and active members of the military receive $3 off the gate price, while children age 2 and under will be admitted for free.
“Playing Indiana University at Victory Field is an outstanding opportunity for our Notre Dame baseball team,” baseball sport administrator and senior associate athletics director Jody Sadler said. “Victory Field is an amazing facility in a vibrant community. Not only do we have four current members of our team from the Indianapolis area, but we also have over 2,500 Notre Dame Alumni living in Indy and its surrounding suburbs. We are excited to get down there to play and we are hoping to see many Irish fans at Victory Field for the game April 21.”

Indiana heads into the 2015 season fresh off back-to-back Big Ten regular season and tournament championships. The Hoosiers have established themselves as a contending baseball program on the national scene, including a trip to the 2013 College World Series, and have seen recent top level players such as C/OF Kyle Schwarber, INF Micah Johnson and C Josh Phegley go on to find success in the professional ranks.
“We are excited to play in our backyard at one of the elite minor league ballparks in the country against a great in-state opponent in Notre Dame,” said Indiana head coach Chris Lemonis. “I have the utmost respect for (Notre Dame head coach) Mik Aoki and his program, and we look forward to competing in a terrific environment. We can’t wait to play in front of our fans and alumni in Indianapolis.”
The 2015 Irish return 28 players and add eight standout freshmen from a 2014 squad that finished 22-31 overall in its first season in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Notre Dame also continues to see recent alumni make an impact in the Major Leagues led by All-Star Jeff Samardzija, starter David Phelps and OF AJ Pollock.
“We are excited about the game against Indiana at Victory Field,” said Aoki. “I think it's awesome to be able to go to Indianapolis and play at a great field like that. It's a beautiful place and I'm looking forward to getting down there and playing against a program that has certainly had their fair share of success over the last couple of years.”
Group rates are also available starting at $6 per ticket for groups of 25-99 and $5 per ticket for groups of 100+. Victory Field's wide array of premium group areas are also available for rent, including The Cove, suites, picnic areas and party terraces.
