The organization that represents the 100 breweries in the state has announced its 2015 board of directors officers. The Brewers of Indiana Guild has elected Lafayette Brewing Co. owner Greg Emig president. February 6, 2015

News Release

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Brewers of Indiana Guild, the non-profit trade association that represents all 100 of the state’s craft breweries, held its annual officers election at its bi-monthly meeting of the Board of Directors this week.

Greg Emig, owner of Lafayette Brewing Company (established in 1993), was voted in as President. He takes over the position previously held by Clay Robinson of Sun King Brewing Company. Other board members voted into officer positions are as follows, all of whom return to their positions: Rob Caputo, Vice President (Director of Brewing Operations, Flat12 Bierwerks, Indianapolis); Justin Miller, Secretary (Owner, Black Acre Brewing Company, Indianapolis); and D.J. McAllister, Treasurer (Owner/Brewer, Black Swan Brewpub, Avon). All officers serve one year terms.

“I'm excited to have this opportunity to promote the interests of Indiana's craft brewing community,” said Emig, who is a founding member of the Board of Directors and has served for more than 11 years in total. “The Brewers of Indiana Guild's biggest strength is the dedication and devotion of our brewery members to their craft. It is an honor to represent them, and it is my goal to continue our tradition of excellence and sustained growth well into the future.”

In addition to a variety of other roles, Emig currently chairs the Purdue/Brewers of Indiana Guild partnership committee. He was also an eight-year member of the legislative affairs team that led to successful passage of Sunday beer sales by Indiana brewers.

Emig will preside over the Guild’s annual meeting in March, which immediately follows the first Indiana Craft Brewers Conference in Bloomington, Indiana.

The city will also host the 5th Annual Bloomington Craft Beer Festival, a fundraiser for the Guild, on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Historic Woolery Mill. This follows last Saturday’s 7th Annual Brewers of Indiana Guild Winterfest, the largest yet, which attracted 101 craft breweries–69 from Indiana–and thousands of craft beer fans.
