Lt. Governor Sue Ellspermann will help kick off the first event for Women Empowering Women next week in Jasper. The Jasper Chamber of Commerce says the goal of the group is to inspire women in business, build networks and promote community in Dubois County.

JASPER, Ind. (January 23, 2015) – All women in business who live or work in Dubois County are invited to attend the kick-off event of a newly formed women’s leadership group, Women Empowering Women (WEW). Indiana’s Lt. Governor Sue Ellspermann, will be the guest speaker at the event, which will be held on Friday, February 13th, 2015, at KlubHaus 61, 2031 Newton Street in Jasper, from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. This event will be an opportunity to learn about this women’s leadership group and how to become a member.

A steering committee of women business leaders from throughout Dubois County has been developing the organization over the past year with support of the Jasper Chamber of Commerce. The mission of Women Empowering Women is to inspire women in business to reach their highest potential by instilling confidence, building networks, and promoting community in Dubois County. A schedule of informative programs has been developed for 2015 and will be shared at the event.

“We believe that when women succeed, our communities succeed,” states Nancy Eckerle, Executive Director of the Jasper Chamber of Commerce. “On behalf of the Women Empowering Women’s steering committee, we invite all women in business who live or work in Dubois County to join us for this kick-off event to learn more about this exciting women’s leadership group.”

Lt. Governor Sue Ellspermann adds, “Whether a woman is starting her career, in the advanced stage of her career or somewhere in between, there is great benefit from connecting with others to learn, grow and network. The Women Empowering Women’s organization in Dubois County will strengthen our communities.”

Reservations for the kick-off event can be made by February 6th by calling the Jasper Chamber of Commerce at 812-482-6866 or by emailing chamber@jasperin.org . The cost for the event is $10.00 per person, which includes lunch. Pre-Payment to the Jasper Chamber is preferred. Mail or bring to 302 West 6th Street – P.O. Box 307 – Jasper, IN 47547. Dress is business attire.
