Another Republican is joining the race for Indianapolis mayor. Chuck Brewer, a military veteran who owns two downtown restaurants, confirmed his candidacy on his Twitter account. Brewer owns Soupremacy and the Potbelly Sandwich shop in downtown Indianapolis. He is also an Iraq war veteran. Brewer earned his MBA from Northwestern University and a Master's degree from Harvard University.

His announcement came on the same day that Deputy Mayor Olgen Williams said he would run. Williams previously served as executive director for Christamore House on the city's near-west side. Realtor Terry Michael and Jocelyn-Tandy Adande have also announced their candidacies.

Former United States Attorney Joe Hogsett announced his candidacy in November.
