Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne will announce results Tuesday of a regional training needs survey. It is designed to examine whether the school's coursework and training offerings meet the region's needs.

News Release

Fort Wayne, Ind. — The Division of Continuing Studies at Indiana University–Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) will announce the results of its recent regional training needs survey on Tuesday, January 20, at 1 p.m. in the Kettler Hall faculty lounge (KT 154).

Participants will include Chancellor Vicky Carwein; John Sampson, president/CEO of the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership; and Kathleen Randolph of Northeast Indiana Works.

Members of business community and the general public are welcome to attend.

About the survey

The survey was designed to seek community input to ensure that the coursework and training being offered by the division meets the region's needs. The survey results will also help the university align with the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership's Big Goal of 60 percent higher education attainment by 2025.

The survey was distributed in October 2014 to over 24,000 email addresses representing 12 different regional business and industry groups, including healthcare, manufacturing, corporate training, and others.

IPFW plans to use the survey results to develop a baseline of training needs and match them with its course and training offerings. Focus groups to further explore the training needs will be held this winter.
