The Indianapolis Airport Authority will host an informational session about more than 1,000 acres going back on the market. Airport executives will brief brokers and developers on opportunities at an open house next week.

January 12, 2015

News Release

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Indianapolis Airport Authority (IAA) recently announced an initiative to fuel the local economy by placing more than 1,200 acres of IND land back into the market. The IAA is hosting an open house on Jan. 20, 2015 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. where commercial real estate brokers and developers can learn more about the land available for lease and sale. Airport leaders will speak about the initiative, IND's property and the airport's role in supporting local economic growth and development.

With this initiative, IAA will create an estimated annual tax revenue of $1.7 million, adding to the $55 million in state and local tax revenues generated by the airport each year. The more than 1,200 acres available for lease or sale is valued at an estimated $83 million. This initiative will give businesses, neighbors and economic development groups access to new property developments, creating jobs and economic opportunity.

The IAA has also established a 2,000-plus acre conservation area focused on providing critical habitat land to the endangered Indiana bat and wetland mitigation to enhance water quality, and will look at opportunities relative to this land for compatible use.

WHO: Speakers will include:

Mario Rodriguez, IAA Executive Director

Michael Wells, IAA Board President

Eric Anderson, IAA Property Director

Marsha Stone, IAA Senior Director of Commercial Enterprise

WHEN: Jan. 20, 2015 from 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
