News Release

Carmel, Ind. — Hamilton National Title, LLC, is excited to announce the acquisition of the Elkhart and Columbus (Bartholomew County), Indiana offices of Stewart Title. Hamilton Title, headquartered in central Indiana, is a leading title agent in the Midwest with a robust commercial, residential and national business. Hamilton National Title is part of Near North Title Group (NNTG), an industry-leading title services company out of Chicago, Illinois. NNTG has completed 5 Indiana acquisitions of title and escrow offices, including Hamilton Title Securities, Landmark Title, Hale Abstract and now Elkhart and Columbus Stewart locations, all of which make Hamilton one of the fastest growing title companies in the Midwest. NNTG is also able to provide cutting-edge services directly in Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, and nationally through strategic relationships.

The Elkhart office was acquired by Stewart in 1999 from Jim Ingold, and had operated as Cripe Title since 1890. Cripe Title manager Amy Weatherholt remained a member of the Stewart team during that transition, and is now joining Hamilton Title as the Elkhart Branch Manager.

Weatherholt commented, “My team and I are so excited to be joining Hamilton Title. Hamilton's owner, Daniel Fowler, is an Elkhart County native and attended Jimtown High School. Dan's extended family still resides in the Michiana area, and he is committed to helping us build our business in this community.” Steve Noonan, the Elkhart office's longtime business development officer, added, “Hamilton Title gives us an innovative business platform with access to multiple underwriters, giving us more flexibility to serve our clients, including the areas of new construction and commercial work. Our dedicated staff will still work from the same wonderful office facilities, yet we will have greater local control of our files, so we will be able to more efficiently service our client's title needs.”

Hamilton Title looks forward to continuing this century-old legacy, with hometown ties coupled with the latest new technology and top-notch customer service.

The Columbus (Bartholomew County) office, formerly known as Bartholomew County Title, was acquired by Stewart in 2007. Lorie Stewart, who has worked in the Columbus operation since 1988 stated, “I'm happy that the office at 700 Washington Street and all of my colleagues are now part of Hamilton Title. The proximity to Hamilton Title's Marion County, Shelby County, and Hamilton County offices brings a lot of resources to help us better serve our customers.” Patti Robitaille, Columbus' business development officer, added, “The decades of commercial experience and sophisticated residential business units of Hamilton and Near North Title Group will help us continue our growth in Columbus and surrounding areas. Our clients are so loyal to us, and our office is pleased to be able to add additional services and resources, such as NNTG's 1031 exchange company, Exchange Services Group.”
