Indiana Landmarks and the Huntington Redevelopment Commission are funding an effort to find a new use and developer for a block of historic buildings set to be demolished. The organization says the money will support roof repairs and a rehabilitation feasibility study for the properties on the city's Courthouse Square. December 28, 2014

HUNTINGTON, Ind. (December 17, 2014) – This summer the future looked bleak for a block of historic buildings targeted for demolition on Huntington's Courthouse Square. Local preservation advocates contacted Indiana Landmarks for help, and this month we signed an agreement with the city Redevelopment Commission to provide funds for roof repairs and a rehab feasibility study. Indiana Landmarks is matching those dollars with funds from our Efroymson Family Endangered Places Fund.

We have until November 2015 to identify a new purpose and developer for the block or demolition will proceed. Watch for updates in the coming year.
