Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis has announced its 2015 schedule. It includes more than 70 events on the Brownsburg venue's dragstrip and oval track from March through October.

Brownsburg, Ind. — Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis today announced its 2015 schedule of events. The historic multipurpose facility located in Brownsburg, Indiana will hold a variety of events on its quarter-mile dragstrip and .686-mile oval track from March through October.

“Lucas Oil Raceway has come to be known as 'America's Great Race Place' because of our diverse schedule of events that appeal to race fans and racers across a variety of motorsports platforms,” said Randy Simpson, general manager of Lucas Oil Raceway. “Our 2015 season schedule sees the return of many established and traditional events as well as the introduction of new emerging events that we are developing for the future. We're looking forward to the start of the 2015 season for what will be our 56th year of racing.”

Lucas Oil Raceway's marquee event is the world's biggest and most prestigious drag race, the 61st Annual Chevrolet Performance US Nationals, Labor Day weekend September 2-7, 2015. Often referred to as “The Big Go,” the stars of the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, including John Force and Tony Schumacher, make their annual appearance at Lucas Oil Raceway in what is the final race to qualify for the NHRA Countdown to the Championship. Additionally, the event includes such bonus races as the Traxxas Nitro Shootouts for Top Fuel and Funny Car, the Factory Stock Showdown and Mopar HEMI Challenge.

The green flag officially waves over the 2015 season March 28-29 with the CRA Cabin Fever Championship. The season opening oval race includes feature races on Sunday in the Late Model Sportsman and Street Stocks divisions. This weekend also marks the start of Lucas Oil Raceway's newly created Track Championship point series that will span seven races beginning March through October. As part of the series will be the return of the CRA Fall Brawl, September 26-27.

Opening day for Lucas Oil Raceway's dragstrip will be the first of nearly 25 scheduled Wild Wednesday Test & Tune events beginning April 1. Wild Wednesday presented by IndyRPM offers open time trials for both street legal cars and slick tire race cars.

The season long ET Bracket Series begins on Sunday, April 19. Special ET Bracket Series races will include the NHRA National Dragster Challenge (May 25), Summit Racing NHRA Junior Drag Racing League Challenge (June 7) and Summit Racing NHRA King of the Track (July 26). The top point earners qualify to represent team Lucas Oil Raceway at the NHRA Summit Division Finals that will be held at Lucas Oil Raceway, September 18-20.

NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series competition kicks-off in the NHRA North Central Division, May 1-3. Special for 2015, will be the inclusion of the Spring Spectacle of Speed, an exciting presentation of Top Alcohol Funny Cars, Injected Nitro Dragsters, Pro Stock Snowmobiles and wheel standing Super Stocks on Saturday, May 2 at 1:00 and 5:00 PM.

The all motorcycle No Hatin' Drag Racing Organization returns in 2015 to hold two events at Lucas Oil Raceway, May 15-17 and August 7-9.

A tradition continues with the 70th Annual Night Before the 500 on Saturday, May 23. New for 2015, the event will be headlined by the USAC Silver Crown Series rather than USAC National Midgets. Mazda Road to Indy divisions Pro Mazda and USF2000 continue to be featured during the Night Before the 500.

Goodguys returns for the second consecutive year with a one-night-only Friday Nite Drags event on June 5. Goodguys Friday Nite Drags will feature special exhibition vehicles, sportsman racing, a show & shine and will be open to all years, makes and models of race cars.

Slamology is the ultimate custom lifestyle car show, June 13-14. All years, makes and models of cars and trucks can participate. Fun for the whole family, the event includes kid's activities, a concert stage, a hydraulic car hop contest and much more.

Edge of your seat, Pro Mod action returns June 19-21 with the NMCA Muscle Car Nationals featuring the Chevrolet Performance LSX Shootout. Race fans will enjoy a change from the previous early autumn date in October to Father's Day weekend in June.

Bellowing smoke and the rumble of diesel engines mark the start of a new, all diesel event on Saturday, June 27. The day begins with diesel drags in the morning and early afternoon and concludes with the Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League truck pulls in the evening.

The mud continues to fly on Sunday, June 28 at the third annual Patriot Challenge. The three-mile obstacle course mud run is a family friendly event that also benefits Riley Children's Hospital Foundation.

Take a quarter-mile trip down memory lane at the Inaugural Indy Quarter-Mile Classic on Saturday, July 18. The day long nostalgia match racing event will feature nostalgia funny cars, slingshot dragsters, nostalgia pro stocks, nostalgia super stocks, Run Tuff Eliminator competition and much more.

USAC Silver Crown Series racing returns for a second time in 2015, with the JD Byrider 100 on Thursday, July 23. Then race fans will enjoy a big time double-header with the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards in a 200-lap, nationally televised race on Friday, July 24. The ARCA/CRA Super Series will contest a 100-lap race prior to the start of the ARCA 200.

Drag racing's rising stars will compete in the Midwest Junior Super Series, August 14-16. Lucas Oil Raceway hosts race five of the Midwest Junior Super Series' eight race schedule.

All tracks lead to Lucas Oil Raceway, September 18-20, at least for the top point earners at each NHRA Member Track in the North Central Division for the 39th Annual Summit Racing Division Finals. Bracket racing's best go head-to-head for the Division Championship and Race of Champions titles. The Division Champions also qualify to compete for the Summit Racing National Championship at the NHRA Auto Club Finals at Auto Club Raceway at Pomona.

NHRA class racers looking to set a record, make one last blast down the dragstrip or earn a grade point before season's end can do so at the NHRA Fall Classic National Open, October 9-11. In addition to the NHRA categories contested, a Pro and Super Pro bracket race is held on Saturday and Junior Dragsters on Sunday.

Race fans looking for the ride of a lifetime can feel the adrenaline rush of being a race car driver first-hand at two different driving experiences. The Rusty Wallace Racing Experience lets fans drive a NASCAR style stock car around the oval track on eight different weekends, April through October. The Pure Speed Drag Racing Experience let's race fans experience the thrill of racing a dragster for one weekend only, August 1-2.
