Indianapolis Power & Light Co. has named Lora Hoover director of community relations. She previously served as chief development officer for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana.

Indianapolis, Ind. — Lora Hoover has joined Indianapolis Power & Light Company (IPL), a subsidiary of The AES Corporation (NYSE: AES), as Director of Community Relations. As a member of IPL's Public Affairs team, she will be primarily responsible for the development, coordination and management of IPL's charitable contributions, sponsorships, volunteer activities and engagement with local not-for-profit organizations.

IPL invests more than $2 million annually in the community and its people volunteer more than 28,000 hours. Additionally, more than 100 IPL employees serve on key boards throughout Indiana.

“Lora's diverse experience, enthusiasm and passion for this community make her an ideal leader for our community relations team,” said Greg Fennig, Vice President of Public Affairs. “We are excited to have Lora onboard to lead and grow the efforts of our IPL people who contribute their time, talents and dollars to help Central Indiana thrive.”

Hoover brings diverse experience to IPL. Prior to her current position, she served as the Chief Development Officer for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana. During her professional career, she has served at the Indiana Repertory Theatre, The Indianapolis Children's Choir, Franklin College and the University of Indianapolis.

Hoover received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Religious Studies and Philosophy from Franklin College and her Master of Science degree in Higher Education Administration from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis.
