Toyota Considering New AlbanyPosted: Updated:
A major auto manufacturer is exploring the possibility of locating two distribution facilities in New Albany. The News and Tribune reports Toyota's preliminary plans call for a first phase that could create up to 30 jobs. A proposal for the developments at the more than 20-acre Grant Line Industrial Park West site have received preliminary approval from the city's plan commission.
The publication says Jacobi, Toombs and Lanz, a New Albany-based engineering firm, is representing the developer working with the automaker.
Mayor Jeff Gahan says the city is "aggressively" pursuing Toyota, which still needs to make a decision on whether it will locate in Floyd County.
