Indianapolis, Ind. -- The Board of Directors of The Indianapolis Foundation, an affiliate of Central Indiana Community Foundation (CICF), approved and awarded $829,722 of grants to not-for-profits serving Marion County residents on November 11 and December 9, 2014.
The Indianapolis Foundation awarded grants to 16 Marion County not-for-profit organizations demonstrating a commitment to improving the community. Grant allocations support specific projects, programs or operation costs that align with The Indianapolis Foundation's goal of addressing diverse needs in Marion County.
Grant requests were approved by The Indianapolis Foundation Board of Directors and made possible by community donations to the Endowment for Indianapolis (an unrestricted endowment). Supplemental funding for these grants came from five Field of Interest Funds of The Indianapolis Fund, including: The James Proctor Fund for Aged Men and Women, The Indianapolis Foundation Library Fund, Christmas Fund, Bertha P. Hartup Trust Fund, and the Fay McBride Fund.
"Marion County is a diverse community with diverse needs," said Milton O. Thompson, Chair, The Indianapolis Foundation Board of Directors. "For nearly 100 years, generous donors have ensured that The Indianapolis Foundation can provide essential support to organizations that improve our community and address those needs."
