INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis Chancellor Charles R. Bantz has announced the names of 12 people who will serve on a committee conducting a national search for the next dean of the IU School of Liberal Arts.
Dean Bill Blomquist recently announced he was stepping down effective summer 2015 to return to regular faculty duties and to pursue projects at IUPUI that align with his research interests concerning water resources management and policy.
Michael Patchner, dean of the IU School of Social Work at IUPUI, will lead the search committee. Additional committee members are:
Enrica J. Ardemagni, professor of Spanish and director of Graduate Studies and Certificate in Translation Studies Program, IU School of Liberal Arts
Simon J. Atkinson, Chancellor’s Professor and biology chair, Purdue School of Science at IUPUI
Willis K. Bright, president, Bright Visions Inc.
Nicole D. Collins, assistant director of student records, IU School of Liberal Arts
Aaron S. Deason, research assistant, IU School of Liberal Arts
Catherine A. Dobris, director of women’s studies and associate professor of communication studies, IU School of Liberal Arts
Amanda J. Friesen, assistant professor of political science and faculty research fellow, Center for the Study of Religion and American Culture, IU School of Liberal Arts
Ch. Didier Gondola, professor and history chair, IU School of Liberal Arts
