Several Indiana colleges are making their capital project requests to the State Budget Committee. Our partners at WBAA in West Lafayette report Purdue University asked for $161 million for projects including the Purdue Polytechnic Institute. According to WBAA, Purdue President Mitch Daniels says the money would help fund the school's push to have more “active learning” classrooms.

Purdue, Ivy Tech Community College, Indiana State University, Vincennes University, Indiana University, and Ball State University made their requests on Wednesday.

The University of Southern Indiana, the State Department of Education, and other state agencies are scheduled to go before the State Budget Committee on Thursday.
