The South Bend Tribune reports long-time manufacturer General Sheet Metal Works plans to add nearly 30 workers as part of the project. The new facility will also help the company maintain 175 positions.
The Tribune reports Chief Executive Officer John Axelberg wants the new facility to be a point of pride for employees.
County incentives will be funded through bonds and a new tax increment financing district, the first of its kind approved by the county.
County commissioners and the redevelopment commission still must approve the bond issuance and economic development agreement, respectively.
