Danville Kroger Celebrates Reopening, Adds Jobs

DANVILLE, IN — Kroger Central Division leaders celebrated the grand reopening of the company's store in Danville, Indiana at a celebration at 8:30 Thursday morning.
The total economic investment in this store is $3.5 million. Kroger's project was led by Project Manager Dave Arnett. This investment strengthens Kroger's economic and workforce commitment to the local Danville community and will create additional jobs over time.
At a time when many companies, particularly retail companies, have slowed or stopped their investments in facilities and job creation in Indiana, Kroger Central Division has accelerated their pace of investment. In 2014 alone, Kroger will invest more than $75 million in new stores and major remodels in Indiana.

I also am very honored to recognize the longest-serving associate in this Danville store, Ron Lane, who has worked for Kroger since 1969 (45 years). This store remodel offers Kroger customers:
–Gross retail space of 56,000 square feet
–New pharmacy drive through
–New customer and employee restrooms with Customer 1st initiatives
–Renovated deli and bakery cases will include new sushi case, hot foods, service cases, upright deli island and new self-service bakery line up
–Renovated produce prep area
–Natural foods relocated to include new refrigerated and frozen cases
–New floral area upgrades will include a new workstation, cooler, upright cases and display fixtures
–Meat upgrades will include new meat, seafood and lunchmeat island and new prep equipment
–Stock handling equipment to include bascarts, convenience bascarts and covered bascart corrals

During the grand reopening event, Kroger made the following donations: $1,000 to Sheltering Wings and $1,000 to the Hendricks County Humane Society.
