Manufacturer Hiring Dozens

Carlex Glass of Indiana Inc. is looking to fill 80 positions at its Ligonier and Auburn facilities. The company will hold two hiring events over the next week to fill the positions, which pay up to $17 per hour.

Fort Wayne, Ind. -- Carlex Glass of Indiana Inc., formerly Guardian Automotive Products Inc., will conduct hiring events December 3 and 8 to fill a total of 80 positions at the automotive glass manufacturer's facilities in Ligonier and Auburn.

The first hiring event will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. December 3 at the Ligonier plant, 860 W. U.S. 6. Carlex is seeking 50 employees in Ligonier, including production operators, quality technicians and maintenance workers.

Another hiring event will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. December 8 at the Auburn plant, 1900 Center St. Carlex is seeking 30 employees in Auburn, including production operators and maintenance workers.

Starting wages are $12.50 an hour for production operators, $12.50 to $13 an hour for quality technicians, and $16 to $17 an hour for maintenance workers. Wages for maintenance workers may go higher depending on skills and experience. All the jobs are full‐time and include shift premiums, medical and dental insurance, a 401(k) plan with matching contributions, and tuition reimbursement.

The positions require at least a high school degree or the equivalent and prospective employees must pass drug tests and criminal background checks. Candidates attending the hiring events should bring resumes and dress appropriately, including wearing long pants and closed‐toe shoes.
