Cincinnati-based Roto-Rooter Services Co. is planning to invest $6 million in a new Fishers facility. Construction is set to begin next year. The Fishers Town Council will consider tax abatement this evening for the project. December 1, 2014
FISHERS, Ind. - The Town Council will consider an economic development agreement with Roto Rooter Services Company at tonight's meeting. Approval of the agreement completes plans for a new facility along the I-69 corridor and brings nearly $6 million in investments and 60 jobs to Fishers. Roto Rooter will acquire property and construct a new facility at 12034 Exit Five Pkwy.
"Roto Rooter is a leader in its industry and we are excited that they have chosen Fishers for their new central Indiana facility," said Town Council President, John Weingardt. "This agreement brings investment and jobs to our community furthering the long-term sustainability of the Fishers economy."
Roto Rooter, North America's leading provider of plumbing and drain-cleaning services, intends to build a new facility to accommodate its expanding central-Indiana services. The investment includes the purchase of the land and a capital investment of more than $5.9 million. Roto Rooter will relocate 50 full-time jobs by 2016 and create an additional ten full-time jobs by 2019 with a total projected yearly payroll of more than $2.7 million.
The economic development agreement includes a four-year real property tax abatement on qualified investment for a total estimated incentive package worth $272,875. Once approved, Roto Rooter is expected to begin construction in 2015 with a projected occupancy of spring 2016.
