Michigan City Re-Ups Big Boat Race

The LaPorte County Convention and Visitors Bureau has reached a multi-year extension with Super Boat International to continue hosting the Great Lakes Grand Prix. The organization says last year, the event injected more than $7 million into the economy. It's been held in the LaPorte County city for the last five years.
Arnett tells our partners at The Times of Northwest Indiana the bureau invests around $150,000 per year into securing and marketing the event.
