Swarbrick: 'Not Worried,' Despite ChallengesPosted: Updated:
University of Notre Dame Athletic Director Jack Swarbrick says college sports will continue to face a "rocky road," but he is confident schools will work through the challenges. He says the value of intercollegiate athletics is too great to go away. Swarbrick adds the benefits haven't been articulated very well and sports has "lost big-time in the court of public opinion." During a recent interview on Inside INdiana Business Television, he also discussed the evolution of the NCAA Division I Football National Championship. Swarbrick believes college athletics contribute too much in the way of educational, leadership and community opportunities to disappear.
He joined Bulter University AD Barry Collier and Purdue University AD Morgan Burke for an event hosted by Sports Circle Indy focusing on the legal issues administrators are up against.
