Indianapolis is among six cities across the nation where AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) is rolling out its new AT&T Business Fiber, which it says will give customers faster broadband speeds. AT&T Indiana President Bill Soards says there has been a recent resurgence of demand for faster speeds and bandwidth as small and large businesses use the Internet for data backup, enhanced video conferencing and remote storage. Soards tells Inside INdiana Business Television the service is the first introduced under the company’s Fiber to the Building program, which is part of Project Velocity IP. The project includes plans to reach more than 1 million additional business customer locations with fiber in AT&T’s wireline service area. To date, AT&T has deployed fiber to more than 5,000 business customer locations across Indianapolis.

News Release

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — As AT&T continues to aggressively deploy fiber to thousands of office buildings nationwide, the company has announced a new U-verse High Speed Internet service for Indianapolis businesses – AT&T Business Fiber – that provides businesses operating in AT&T Fiber Ready Buildings with blazing-fast broadband speeds.

The new Internet service will offer upload and download speeds – over AT&T’s high speed fiber network – up to 300 Mbps initially, with future plans to offer speeds up to 1 Gbps.

AT&T Business Fiber is the first new service introduced under the company’s Fiber to the Building program, which is part of Project Velocity IP. The project includes plans to reach more than 1 million additional business customer locations with fiber in AT&T’s wireline service area. To date, AT&T has deployed fiber to more than 5,000 business customer locations across Indianapolis.

In addition to Indianapolis, the new high speed Internet service is available to more than 16,000 businesses located in AT&T Fiber Ready Buildings in Austin, Texas; San Antonio, Texas; Detroit; Sacramento, Calif.; and Orlando, Fla.

AT&T Business Fiber offers multiple benefits, including:

• Symmetric and asymmetric speeds ranging from 25 Mbps – 300 Mbps, with future plans to reach 1 Gbps;

• Bandwidth that supports business critical applications such as cloud, backup, storage, video conferencing, and more;

• No signed contracts;

• Firewall protection via a Fiber Broadband Gateway device;

• Prices starting as low as $50 per month for 25 Mbps asymmetric service.

“Our newest blazing-fast U-verse service, AT&T Business Fiber, will be a game changer for Indianapolis businesses in AT&T Fiber Ready Buildings,” said Bill Soards, president of AT&T Indiana. “By offering our high speed tiers at speeds of up to 300 megabits per second, and soon 1 gigabit per second, they will be able to access services and technologies that will help take their businesses to the next level.”

In addition to AT&T Business Fiber, businesses in AT&T Fiber Ready Buildings have access to an expanded array of network services, such as Internet and private networking, security services and cloud-based services, all of which ride on the fiber network. Specifically, companies in these buildings can more quickly and efficiently perform such tasks as:

• Uploading and downloading large data files and images;

• Sharing large files with employees or customers in other locations;

• Uploading edits to company websites;

• Backing up data remotely in the cloud at one or multiple locations; and

• Videoconferencing with suppliers, business partners and customers.
