News Release

Fishers, Ind. — Launch Fishers announced today the creation of Fail Fest, a day-long festival that will celebrate the role failure plays in innovation. Fail Fest will be held on November 19th, 2014 from 9AM to 6PM at Two Concourse at Crosspoint, the newest Class A office building in Fishers. More information and tickets are available at FailFest.us.

“Anyone who has ever tried anything meaningful knows that setbacks are a part of the game,” said Launch Fishers Founder, John Wechsler. “We are aiming to change the failure culture in the area by talking about the role of failure in moving careers, companies and communities forward.”

The day will be kicked off by Inside Indiana Business Creator and Host Gerry Dick and will include a special afternoon address by Indiana Lt. Governor Sue Ellspermann. Scheduled speakers for the event include: Jeb Banner – Small Box Web, Marcia Barnes, David Becker – First Internet Bancorp, Michael Cloran – DeveloperTown, Scott Fadness – Town of Fishers, Gerry Hays – Slane Capital, Scott Hill – PERQ, Scott Jones – Eleven Fifty, Mike Langellier – TechPoint, Tom Laskey – Edgeworth Laskey Properties, Jonathon Perrelli – Fortify Ventures, Clay Robinson – Sun King Brewing Company, Neal Rothermel – VMS BioMarketing, Jacob Schpok – Office of Small Business & Entrepreneurship, Shawn Schwegman – Gusto, John Wechsler – Launch Fishers and Matt Wyatt – Recovery Force.

“We should stop benching our players that swing for the fence and occasionally miss,” said Fail Fest speaker and DeveloperTown Managing Partner Michael Cloran. “If you only swing at the perfect pitch you won't score many runs. We need to make it acceptable for people to take a shot at innovation realizing that they may fall short of their goals from time to time.”

Event sponsors include Duke Energy, ISBDC, Fishers Advantage, Barnes and Thornburg, Launch Fishers, Launch Indiana, ex2 Partners, inSourceCode, Sun King Brewery, IU Research & Technology Corporation, Iconic Digital, Niagara Water, Invest Hamilton County, Visit Hamilton County, Inside Indiana Business, Midwest Balloon Rides, Com Control, Inc., AVL Connections, Edgeworth Laskey Properties and PERQ.
