Fairbanks Launches Search For Next Leader

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Fairbanks Board of Directors has named Fairbanks Vice President and CFO Barbara B. Elliott as the interim president and CEO of Fairbanks and Hope Academy following the recent resignation of Mark Monson. Elliott will serve in this role during the board's selection process for a permanent president and CEO for the nonprofit drug and alcohol treatment center.
“Barb Elliott's proven leadership and expertise will be of great value to Fairbanks and Hope Academy during this time of transition,” said Fairbanks Board Chairman Rich Collins. “We have confidence that Barb will continue to grow the organization while staying true to our mission.”
Elliott joined Fairbanks in 2007 as the Chief Financial Officer and has been instrumental in managing the finances of the organization and providing support to the CEO. She has nearly 36 years of healthcare experience working for St. Vincent Health, Howard Community Hospital and Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Indiana. She also chairs the Fairbanks Finance Committee and is on the board of directors for Partners in Housing, which provides affordable housing for homeless individuals in Central Indiana.
Rich Collins, Fairbanks Board Chairman and former senior executive at UnitedHealthcare, says the organization is unique in the scope and quality of services it provides and will remain committed to its mission.
