IU Kelley Shows Off Revamped Home

Subscribe NowThe dean of Indiana University's Kelley School of Business says the renovated Hodge Hall in Bloomington allows the school to adapt to an education landscape that has changed “very dramatically” since it was built nearly 50 years ago. Idie Kesner says funding for the more than $60 million project came entirely from private sources. In addition to more space, the renovations include new classrooms, a simulated stock market trading floor and a sales laboratory. Kesner says new communications technology keeps the school connected to the corporate world. She gave Inside INdiana Business Television Host Gerry Dick a tour of the building on this weekend's edition of the program. Kesner says the project has been years in the making. Work will continue through 2016, with the investment totaling nearly $70 million when furniture and equipment is included. Major gifts came from Permal Asset Management President James Hodge, for whom the school is named, and Lilly Endowment Inc.
The renovated Hodge Hall is now 90,000 square feet larger and features 20 additional classrooms, new meeting rooms, student collaboration space and a room for large gatherings. The expansion is also allowing for the Indiana Business Research Center to move back onto campus.
