Startup Tapping Into Craft Beer Industry

Subscribe NowAn Indiana entrepreneur is capitalizing on the state's growing craft beer industry by offering mobile canning services. iCan Solutions Founder Luke Brown says his company allows breweries to expand sales beyond their tap rooms, kegs and growlers. His clients include Avon-based Cutters Brewing Co. and Daredevil Brewing Co. in Shelbyville. He discussed the company's growth on Inside INdiana Business Television. Brown says he came up with the idea for the company during a sales trip to Colorado. He asked workers at a small brewery how they were able to get cans for smaller orders, and learned that someone came in for them regularly to can the drinks and helped increase sales.
He says he spent the next summer going to beer festivals throughout Indiana and pitching the idea to breweries. Brown says help from his family enabled him to get the canning line ordered.
Brown says he hopes to have two or three mobile canning lines and a location set up to contract, brew and package for startup breweries in the coming years.
