The public dedication of the renovated Milton-Madison Bridge is set for the end of the month. A ceremony featuring the governors of Indiana and Kentucky has been rescheduled from earlier this month. October 15, 2014

MILTON, Ken. and MADISON, Ind. – A public ceremony to dedicate the new Milton-Madison Bridge has been rescheduled for Tuesday, October 28. The governors from Indiana and Kentucky will be on hand to highlight the innovative solution used to replace the bridge.

At nearly a half-mile long, the Milton-Madison Bridge became the longest bridge in North America – and perhaps the world – to be slid laterally into place when it was moved 55 feet from temporary piers onto refurbished permanent piers this past April. The bridge reopened to traffic on April 17.
