Fort Wayne, Ind. — Ryan Twiss, director of the Big Goal Collaborative at the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership, and Courtney Tritch, vice president of marketing at the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership, have been selected to present at StriveTogether's “2014 Cradle to Career Network Convening: Making Waves — Action that Moves Outcomes.” This national conference will take place October 15-17, in San Diego, California.
The conference gives communities the opportunity to share how they are improving educational outcomes for students with other communities from across the country.
The pair will lead a deep dive session titled “WHY we do it: A facilitated workshop to communicate your work and grow support.” The session will explain how Northeast Indiana is changing its communication approach from focusing on “what we do” to “why we do it” and how the region is honing in on its “why” as it relates to the Big Goal. It will also address how these efforts have evolved into Northeast Indiana's Our Story Project, that aims at taking the why conversation even one step further to identify “who we are” as a region.
The Big Goal — one of the priorities identified through the Partnership's Vision 2020 initiative — aims to increase the percentage of Northeast Indiana residents with high-quality degrees or credentials to 60% by 2025.
“Effective communication efforts are vital to grassroots efforts like the Big Goal, and we're excited to share best practices with communities from across the country who are working to achieve similar results,” said Tritch.
The Partnership is looked to nationally for best practices both for its collaborative education initiatives and its innovative communications efforts.
“There is strong support throughout Northeast Indiana for the work being undertaken to reach the Big Goal. Over the past couple years, we've been able to hone our communications to illustrate the importance of building an educated workforce. As we continue to build on this work through the Our Story Project, we look forward to sharing our success and failures and to helping other communities strengthen the messaging for their efforts,” said Twiss.
Twiss and Tritch will be joined at the conference by Paige Krouse, continuous improvement manager for the Big Goal Collaborative.
