Pacers Bikeshare Boasts Success

Organizers say they have sold more than 1,400 annual memberships and nearly 22,000 24-hour passes since the effort launched in April.

Indianapolis, Ind. — Indianapolis Cultural Trail, Inc. (ICT, Inc.) today reports that during the five months since the Indiana Pacers Bikeshare program launched, the gold bikes have been checked out and ridden nearly 75,000 times rides by 1,404 Annual Members and from almost 22,000 24-Hour pass users. Additionally, ICT, Inc. partnered with Downtown Indy to place a blue and gold 'B' on the downtown venue directional signage to make finding the 25 bikeshare stations even easier.
“We're constantly looking for ways to improve the program and adding the bikeshare 'B' to the directional signs downtown creates a better bikeshare experience” said K?ren Haley, executive director of ICT, Inc. “We are thrilled that Pacers Bikeshare is strongly embraced by our community and hope people will join us to celebrate our upcoming six month anniversary.”
All are invited to a free Six Month Celebration Ride on Friday, October 17 at 7:00 P.M.. The ride will begin at the East Plaza of City Market and end in Fountain Square to enjoy the Third Friday on the Plaza. People are encouraged to use a Pacers Bikeshare bike or bring their on bicycles.

Pacers Bikeshare is available by purchasing either an annual membership for $80 at pacersbikeshare.org or a 24 hour pass for $8 online or at any bikeshare station kiosk. Your pass or membership gives you access to a bike for unlimited thirty minute trips.
Trips over thirty minutes incur additional user fees as is standard with bikeshare programs around the country. Bikesharing is a healthy transportation option designed for short trips.
Indiana Pacers Bikeshare, a program of Indianapolis Cultural Trail, Inc. launched on April 22, 2014. There are 25 stations located in downtown Indianapolis, primarily along the Indianapolis Cultural Trail: A Legacy of Gene and Marilyn Glick.
