One Southern Indiana will host its annual business expo this month in Jeffersonville. More than 100 exhibitors and 1,000 people are expected to attend the October 23 event. October 7, 2014

News Release

JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. — One Southern Indiana (1si) is seeking businesses of all sizes to participate in this year’s Business Expo. The event, which is considered Southern Indiana’s largest business to business expo, has added features this year to allow for more relationship building, networking opportunities, learning, tastings and affordable advertising packages. The event will be held from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 23 at Kye’s I & II at 500 Missouri Avenue in Jeffersonville.

Appropriately themed “Taking Care of Business,” this event draws more than 100 exhibitors and 1,000 attendees to the unlimited opportunities to build business relationships. Admission is free to business professionals who present a business card at the registration table.

The fourth annual silent auction is a great way to buy media advertising at a reasonable cost. Items include magazine, billboard, electronic media and newspaper advertising space, along with a variety of gift cards, business supplies and other traditional items from local area businesses. Participants can bid on items until 5 p.m. and winners will be announced at 5:30 p.m.

From 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., attendees can sample food from local caterers and restaurants. Attendees will also have the opportunity to network at the Happy Hour Networking which will last from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Again this year, two free workshop sessions will be held for the exhibitors and attendees to learn valuable information for their business. Held next to Kye’s in Velocity at 400 Missouri Avenue, one hour workshops will take place at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. The first workshop will feature 1si President & CEO, Wendy Dant Chesser who will discuss regionalism and the second workshop will feature Uric Dufrene, Executive Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs at Indiana University Southeast, giving his economic outlook forecast on the nation.

For the seventh year in a row, PNC Bank is the title sponsor of Business Boost Expo. Gold sponsors include: Elite Printing Resources; Business First of Louisville, Kightlinger and Gray, LLP, Mortenson Dental and New Albany Broadcasting; Bronze sponsors include: Greater Clark County Schools; Mane Event Decorators; Stock Yards Bank and Sounds Unlimited Productions. The workshop presenting sponsor is Crescendo Strategies and the Workshop Supporting Sponsor is Office and Business Resources.

The Business Expo welcomes businesses and residents from Louisville, Southern Indiana and surrounding areas. Call (812) 945-0266/Ext. 204, or visit the website at www.1si.org for availability.
