Daleville Mulling Potential Downtown Revitalization

Posted: Updated:

The Daleville Town Council is exploring potential downtown improvements. Our partners at The Herald Bulletin in Anderson report projects at a prominent intersection and a park near the town hall could be the focal points of redevelopment. As new businesses have cropped up in the Delaware County town, businesses have moved south from the downtown area.

Muncie-based developer Rundell Ernstberger Associates, one of three teams offering redevelopment proposals says Daleville offers lots of jobs, but faces a lack of affordable housinf and "willing tenants." Project Manager Cecil Penland adds the company has about $4 million in tax increment financing dollars, which could be a source of funding.

The council is set to meet Monday to decide if it will move forward with any potential proposals.
