An Indianapolis television station that is losing its network affiliation is boosting its investment in local news. WISH-TV, owned by Texas-based LIN Media, says it will add 20 hours of news programming per week. CBS Corp. is moving its Indianapolis affiliation in January to Tribune Broadcasting-owned WTTV-TV. INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – WISH-TV's President and General Manager Les Vann today announced significant investments in the expansion of WISH-TV's local news programming across all 24-Hour News 8 dayparts, beginning January 1, 2015.

“The investments we are making further enhance WISH-TV's 60-year commitment to localism and local news,” said Vann. “The additional 20 hours of news per week will allow us to deliver more breaking news, investigative journalism, sports and weather coverage, across all screens, and in new time periods for our viewers.”

24-Hour News 8's Daybreak will expand by two-hours, airing from 4:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. 24-Hour News 8 at Noon will expand by 30-minutes to 1:00 p.m. 24-Hour News 8’s early newscast will expand by 30-minutes to 7:00 p.m. and WISH-TV’s late newscast will expand one additional hour, from 10:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

24-Hour News 8’s Daybreak 4:30 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.

24-Hour News 8 at Noon 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.

24-Hour News 8 at 5PM 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

24-Hour News 8 at 6PM 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

24-Hour News 8 at 10PM 10:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.

24-Hour News 8 at 11PM 11:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m.

2014 marks WISH-TV's 60th year of serving Hoosier viewers and six-decades of revolutionizing local television news in Central Indiana. Since signing on the air, WISH-TV has been an industry leader, both locally and nationally.
